On 30 October, the grant scheme Pilot Nationaal Akkoord Amateurkunst (National Amateur Arts Agreement) will be launched. Under this scheme, municipalities, provinces and the state join forces to structurally strengthen the amateur arts field. The pilots that are being conducted within this scheme will provide input for a national amateur arts agreement (Nationaal Akkoord Amateurkunst), which is scheduled for 2025. In the agreement, state secretary Gunay Uslu intends to lay down agreements between OCW, IPO and VNG on a better support structure for amateur arts. The scheme will close on 28 February 2024.
Two parts
At the request of the state secretary, the Fund for Cultural Participation, together with LCKA and OCW, developed a nationwide scheme. It includes two components. The first aims to strengthen discipline-based support. Amateur arts umbrella organisations can apply for a grant for this. The second focuses on the substantive strengthening of amateur arts and cultural education or the sustainable strengthening of the infrastructure of amateur arts. Within the scope of this component, the Fund invites cultural institutions to apply.
Amateur arts umbrellas: strengthening discipline-based support
For this purpose, we welcome plans that explain how the umbrella organisation can support the amateur arts field. The same applies to applications that present a vision for the national sector or the development of an arts discipline. A total of €400,000 is available for this. A maximum grant amount ranging from €10,000 to €105,000 applies per amateur arts umbrella organisation. Nine umbrella organisations qualify: Circuspunt, Danslink, Federatie van Folkloristische Groepen in Nederland, Fotobond, Koninklijke Nederlandse Muziek Organisatie, Koornetwerk Nederland, Landelijke Organisatie Studenten Theaterverenigingen, Nederlandse Organisatie van Audiovisuele Amateurs, Stichting Textiel Informatie en Documentatie Centrum.
Cultural institutions: substantive strengthening of amateur arts and cultural education
This part of the scheme is open to all cultural organisations active within amateur arts, cultural participation or cultural education outside school. As a cultural institution, you can apply for between €100,000 and €375,000; a total of €2,857,152 is available.
Each project is a collaboration between at least:
- one amateur arts umbrella organisation, provincial or municipal support body;
- one other professional organisation working in the amateur arts field and cultural education outside school;
- one amateur arts group or a collection of groups.
