Please note
Due to great success, the grant ceiling has now been reached. We therefore had to close the Open Call Suriname-the Netherlands 2024 earlier. It is therefore no longer possible to apply.
Suriname and the Netherlands share a history, their language, and culture are closely linked. The Cultural Participation Fund encourages cultural cooperation between the two countries. By means of this Open Call, we support projects in which Surinamese and Dutch organisations learn from and with each other. For example, by working together, sharing knowledge, or undertaking an artistic or heritage project together.
Who can apply for a grant?
You can apply for a grant if:
- if you are a cultural (art or heritage) organisation based in Suriname. Such an organisation can apply for a grant for a cooperation project with one or more Dutch cultural organisations. The Surinamese applicant must be registered with the register of foundations, which is part of the Chamber of Commerce and Factories (KKF).
- if you are a cultural organisation, based in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Such organisation can apply for a grant for a cooperation project with a Surinamese cultural organisation. The Fund explicitly advises these organisations to initially look at the possibilities that our International Collaboration scheme can offer.
What kind of project is it?
You can apply for a grant for an international cooperation project. This could be:
- a co-creation project in the field of cultural education, cultural participation, talent development or immaterial heritage with and for children, young people or adults.
- a cooperation, knowledge sharing or exchange in the field of cultural education, cultural participation, talent development or intangible heritage. The target group involves children, young people or adults.
- a combination of the two.
For this Open Call, we envisage working visits, collaborating in each other's organisations, a joint training course, a conference or implementing a project together. We advise applicants to submit the plan to us in draft form at an early stage; we are happy to work with you to prepare a promising application.
We are curious about your ideas! Do you have questions or doubts about something? Please call or text one of our advisors. Or send an email to internationaal@cultuurparticipatie.nl.
